The Canadian Coalition for Electronic Rights has updated its online letter writing wizard in light of recent developments in the Canadian copyright reform front. This update is intended to address the Government’s seeming willingness to ignore the voices of thousands of Canadians and proceed with the introduction of anti-consumer copyright reform legislation in as little as 6 weeks. Legislation that goes in a polar opposite direction of what Canadians demanded during the consultation process.

Send your letter now and share this tool with your friends, family and co-workers. It is essential that we all speak up now while we have the opportunity.

Don’t follow the american’s and their nazi style, “crush anyone who doesn’t pay us our exorbitant fee’s just to hear music the bands/musicians can put on the net and sell directly to us” copyright ways. It’s very unfair to consumers, and artists alike. KILL THIS BILL NOW!

If you push this through without listening to our Canadian voices, you will be voted out of a job faster than you can blink!

  3. Robert Harris Says:

Since you cannot listen to the people i will have to influence your action by my right to vote. I will be voting in the next election on this issue, and this issue only, so if it passes, my vote will not be going to YOU, as it has in the past. And remember the margin of your win, the first election you won here, it was not that much. I\’m real tired of you and the goverment not listening to us, the little guys, i\’m sick of all the toadying up to the big boys and the dimissal of our views in favor of big business. The internet is not in your jurisdiction and you have no right to try to make it so, by knee jerk reactions (but isn\’t that all you\’ve done for the past two years, i\’m wondering how long your knees are gonna last with all the bs you\’ve been reacting too).

As i say, my VOTE will be determined on this ISSUE and this ISSUE ONLY.

I have always been of a conservative political bent, and have thought that for the most part the federal Conservative party was the least untrustworthy party. However, I cannot and will not support ANY party which supports this current round of copyright reform. It is beyond insane for its total lack of protection for users, consumers, and even artists. This abominal act will aid no one who deserves it, and will only serve to further hurt the entertainment industries. DO NOT DO THIS!
